Judy Major-Girardin has taught in the Honours Art Program at McMaster University since 1983.  She has a BFA from the University of Windsor and an MFA from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

She has exhibited her work in solo and group exhibitions throughout Canada and the U.S.A. including: Ariel Gallery, N.Y.C., the Staten Island Institute of Arts and Science, the Kitchener/Waterloo Public Art gallery, the Mississauga Civic Centre, the Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant, the Cambridge Public Gallery, the Transit Gallery in Hamilton, the Eastern Front Gallery and the Pauline McGibbon Centre in Toronto. Her graphic work has been included in juried exhibitions in Japan, Taiwan, New York California, Ohio, Illinois, South Carolina, Vancouver and Toronto, to name a few locations. Print work was included in the Sense of Place exhibition that travelled nationally. Her work is included In both private and public collections including the McMaster Museum of Art, the Toronto Dominion centre, the American Medical association and the University of Alabama Moody Gallery.  The Shayne Gallery of Montreal, the Miriam Perlman Gallery in Chicago and Steiner Corporate Art Consultants in Toronto, have represented her. 

In 2009, she exhibited in a two-person exhibition at the Susan Moody Gallery of Alabama in Tuscaloosa in a show that traveled to the University of Montevallo in Alabama. A grant from the OAC National and International Touring Pilot Program  supported a collaborative print project in Montevallo in February 09.  In 2010 her work was exhibited at the Fire House Gallery in Georgia, the Rotunda Gallery in Kitchener City Hall and at the Collingwood Art Centre. In 2018 her work was featured in a solo show in Art @Wharepuke in New Zealand.

Judy has participated in artist residences at St. Michaels Printmaking, Newfoundland; L’ Atelier de l’Île, Val-David, Quebec; Zea Mays Printmaking, Massachusetts, USA; Lacawac Nature Sanctuary Residency, Pennsylvania, USA; Once Upon Water Residency, Pico Island, Portugal and Art @ Wharepuke Non-toxic print residency in Kerikeri, New Zealand. She will participate in an artist residency at OU Gallery on Vancouver Island in 2019.

Judy is Co-Chair of the Cambridge Sculpture Garden in Cambridge Ontario and she is a Professor of Art in the School of the Arts at McMaster University in Hamilton, ON.
